As it is written in the bible, “Children are a heritage from the Lord; an offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.” (Psalm 127:3-5).

This text reminds us that children are God’s gifts to our households. They are like stars and trophies, giving light and joy to the family. This is why as Christian parents, we have been given the blessing and also the responsibility of rearing and showing them how to live a Godly life.

Despite this, we all know that parenthood is a tough ordeal which makes some parents think of children as burdens instead. But, let us not be fooled with this lie from the enemy! Seeing your child grow in the knowledge of God is definitely rewarding.

One of the ways to do this is for parents to allow themselves to participate in their child’s playtime. This does not only allow parents to gain fun memories but also, creates a strong foundation for their child’s mental and spiritual health.

Here’s where our Children’s Church comes in. If our church is fully equipped with useful and helpful resources to assist our children in knowing God in an enjoyable way, we can help struggling parents all over the world.

Bible Coloring Sheets for Children

In these trying times, many of us are staying at home, especially the children. Many of them feel bored and sad that they are not allowed to have fun with friends outdoors. Good thing we can do so much inside our abode. One thing is to do creative activities with coloring books or sheets.

These coloring sheets have been proven to be helpful through the years because they stimulate learning in a fun and engaging way. It activates the child’s mind to imagine, create, focus, and learn beyond what they see in the picture. Bonus, the learnings they get from the Bible imprints on their minds easily and can even be planted in their hearts and minds for a lifetime!

15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” 16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” 17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.John 21:15-17

In this coloring sheet, you can see how delighted Jesus looks while waving his hand with three sheep on his back. This is because the background of the passage tells us that Jesus was telling His disciples that if they love Him, they should feed and take care of God’s sheep. This then tells us that for us to love Jesus, we should care and assist others in understanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.[a] 14 Just as Moses lifted the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted,[b] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”[c] 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” – Matthew 8:23-27

3 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. 3 So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”

4 When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”

And Moses said, “Here I am.”

5 “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” 6 Then he said, “I am the God of your father,[a] the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.Exodus 3:1-6

The visuals in the coloring sheet below show Moses and the burning bush. To Jews and Christians, the blazing bush symbolizes God’s miracle force, sacred light, illumination, and the burning heart of purity. It always comes to our mind that Moses teaches us to have faith — great faith that leads to obedience. Use this coloring sheet and brighten it up with colors.

Coloring Sheet 11

21 So they went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo Hamath. 22 They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, lived. (Hebron had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) 23 When they reached the Valley of Eshkol,[a] they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs. 24 That place was called the Valley of Eshkol because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut off there. 25 At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land.

26 They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land. 27 They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. 28 But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along with the Jordan.”

30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” Numbers 13:21-30

For this coloring sheet, you can see the 12 spies, they are a group of Israelite chieftains who scout out the Land of Canaan for 40 days. You can notice in the graphic below that only two Israelite chieftains were happy and the others were not. This means only two of the twelve men have strong trust in God and high hopes about Israel’s future. Make this coloring sheet an inspiration of faith despite other people’s discouragement.

26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.” 27 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak, the sea went back to its place. The Egyptians were fleeing toward[b] it, and the Lord swept them into the sea. 28 The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.

29 But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. 30 That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. 31 And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and Moses his servant. Exodus 14:26-31

The graphic below is meaningful to us because it shows Moses splitting the Red Sea in half to allow all of the Israelites to cross on their way to the Promised Land. This graphic shows how Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt. This tells us that if we need help, we should ask the Lord for it, and he will come to our rescue.

8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or at least believe in the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:8-14

Jesus is preaching in front of his disciples in this coloring sheet, offering wisdom and information. One of Jesus’ purposes in coming to earth was to show the true character of Heavenly Father through His words and deeds. He also assured His Apostles that they would be given the ability to accomplish great things. Be joyful for God loves us unconditionally, let this coloring sheet be as colorful as your life.

Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. 2 (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.) 3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”

4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” 5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days, 7 and then he said to his disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.” John 11:1-7

IIn this illustration, you can see the sisters of Lazarus; Martha and Mary, staring at his deceased body. They had so many questions and were full of disappointment with God. But this picture is telling us that there’s nothing impossible in this world. As Jesus told Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die” (John 11:25,26).

As you are seeing, Moses was told by the Lord to tell the Israelites to move on.
